How are Leasing Vehicles Delivered?

One of the questions we get asked a lot here at CarLease UK, particularly for customers who are new to contract hire and leasing, is how lease vehicles are delivered to them once everything is ready.

In terms of process, a vehicle will be only be delivered to a customer once all the finance documentation has been put in place. Whether you are a personal or business leasing customer, our administration team will insist that the documents sent to you (by email) are signed and returned before delivery. In some cases, they may ask for proof of insurance (must be comprehensively insured) before delivery can be arranged.

Our Leased Car Trailer & Lorry Delivery Service

Delivery of a vehicle will only be available Monday – Friday; weekend deliveries cannot be facilitated. In addition, we can only specify morning or afternoon deliveries. We cannot guarantee specific times as they are simply unworkable due to the distance some vehicles travel to a customer plus traffic and other extenuating circumstances, it is simply not possible to be too exact.

There are two principle ways in which a vehicle will be delivered to you

1. Most commonly, the car will be driven to you – a driver will actually drive your vehicle to home or business address; or
2. The car will be transported on a trailer.

The video here, of the beautiful Jaguar F-Pace S and the Ford Kuga ST Line, gives you some idea of how vehicles arrive when a trailer delivery is utilised. Just to note, a trailer delivery is not standard, there will be an additional charge which can range from £250-£500 plus Vat based on the size of vehicle and the distance travelled.

When a vehicle arrives on a trailer, the delivery driver will remove your new car from the transporter and move it to a place which is convenient to you. You will have the opporuntiy to review it/ the vehicle to ensure:

• The specification matches the order with us;
• There are no scratches on the bodywork – checking the roof, bonnet, panels and boot;
• There are no scratches or damage to the alloys;
• The delivery mileage of the vehicle (this mileage is excluded from your contract);
• The handbook/service information is in the vehicle (generally in the glovebox); and
• There are 2 sets of keys.

One you have reviewed the above, and the vehicle is as agreed, you will then sign a vehicle delivery note. In a personal contract hire agreement, the person who is utilising the vehicle (and is the proposed party) must sign the delivery note. This cannot be signed by a 3^rd party. In some business contract hire agreements, an employee or director will be able to sign the delivery note.

Once this has been done, the process is almost complete. After some final paperwork, our admin team will liaise with the finance company and the initial rental for the vehicle will be taken from you (between 7 to 10 days) after delivery.

We are accessible from public transport or by using the M60 (junction 14) onto the A580 thereafter following the signs to Leigh.
